Price Profiles View

Overview​

If you enabled the price-engine key-ui module (instructions here), you should have two new links in the left hand menu. The Price Profile page has a pre-canned view that can be used for managing settings that apply to group of instruments as well new instrument behaviour. Profiles allow a desk or book to share consistent pricing conventions without having to configure each instrument individually.

Every instrument managed by Price Engine is associated with a profile via its profileName field in Static Data Server. If no profile is explicitly assigned, the instrument falls back to the _DEFAULT profile.

Creating a New Profile​

Price Profiles are created automatically for each Instrument Profile.

Assigning a Profile to an Instrument​

Profiles are assigned to instruments in Static Data Server, not in Price Engine. In the Prices page, the Profile column is editable — changing it updates instrument.profileName in SDS directly.

New Instrument Defaults​

When a new instrument is added for pricing, a Price Control is created for it. The settings in 'New Instrument Defaults' can be used to define what the initial Price Control settings for the new instrument will be.

E.g. if Price Source is set to IBKR, then any new instruments that belong to the same price profile will have Price Source = IBKR.
